Haunting photos of polar ice – TED Talk review

For a long time, polar ice has been melting, and these days it’s doing that at a very alarming rate. We need to take care of the environment, and the “Haunting photos of polar ice” TED talk from Camille Seaman offers a great understanding of that. It’s a great insight into why these ice giants are collapsing, and it also shows us that we need to do something right away.

As a photographer, Camille did an excellent job at capturing photos of these icebergs for a long time and it’s clear that polar ice has been melting for a really long time. It’s alarming that some of the ice is over 100k years old, and it contains bacteria that could have an impact on the environment. But it’s important to address that and do everything in your power to handle and tackle these things.

Camille manages to show how damaging our actions, especially pollution, are starting to be on our planet and environment. It shows that we need to do something and if we don’t, then that will become a problem. Finding more eco-friendly ways of living our lives and introducing those at a large scale could help slow down the melting of polar ice. And while we take it for granted, this ice represents the environmental balance that we need. Without it, our planet will deal with jeopardy and instability, severe weather effects that are already widely spread all over the globe.

With these ice giants melting, those issues will only become more prevalent. Since this TED talk focuses a lot on showcasing photos and teaching us what problems we are facing, it also raises some great questions when it comes to protecting the environment and taking the right actions.

I am a huge fan of how clear the message of this rather short TED talk truly is. Not only does it show the dire situation that we are in, but it also manages to offer great insight into what we could do.

It starts a fire under our feet, showing that if we don’t take action, the entire globe will start dealing with the consequences. And that’s, obviously, something that we want to avoid as much as possible. That’s why I think this is a very successful, great TED talk with lots of amazing, powerful info. Everyone should check it out, as it definitely helps open up your eyes in regards to protecting the environment and doing your part!
